Curious about joining our instructor team?

Here are some FAQs to help you determine if our platform is a good fit for you!

What does Engage Fitness Collective do for me?

EFC instructors provide a shared schedule of 90+ weekly classes for your clients (see more below). By joining forces with other instructors, you have the ability to to offer your clients more options without having to work any harder. You control your own schedule, and you’ll be able to take a day off and still serve your clients.

EFC provides you a personal webpage where you can send clients to pay you directly. No need to build your own website. Or, if you already have a site, your EFC page can link to your website.

You will also gain added marketing reach through the EFC social media accounts and website traffic. We employ a social media marketing assistant, and she creates 10-20 posts monthly, all of which you can share, or copy and edit to make them more personal to your followers.

We also enjoy the collaboration and support from each other - 20+ fellow instructors, all with different strengths, including business and technical skills.

Lastly, EFC provides organizational and administrative support with templates for setting up payment subscriptions, keeping track of clients, pre-existing waiver forms, a monthly newsletter, sales and marketing tips and more.

Can I make my own schedule?

Yes, do what’s best for you and your clients. You decide what days/times/lengths and/or varieties of classes you would like to teach. You can change your schedule at any time, assuming it does not directly conflict with another instructor on the platform.

However, if you want to teach Zumba MWF at noon EDT, and you see we already have an instructor teaching that exact schedule, we won’t be a good fit for each other. Take a look at our schedule, and see if the online classes you are currently teaching (or would like to teach) would fit into our schedule without directly competing with other EFC offerings.

What does EFC ask of me?

We ask that you are a certified instructor carrying professional insurance. We can refer you to reputable insurance options for as little as $11/mo.

We ask you to teach at least two weekly classes on our platform, and share your classes with the clients of every instructor in the collective.

We ask for you to be reliable. Last minute cancellations should be rare and for emergencies only.

We ask for payment of a very affordable monthly membership fee to help us pay for marketing and website costs. Many online platforms keep 10% of an instructor’s income. Our scale slides. Example: If you have 7 clients paying you $40/mo, you make $280/mo, and we ask for you to contribute $25/mo to EFC (works out to under 9%). If you have 50 clients paying you $40/mo, you make $2000/mo, and we ask you to contribute $75/mo to EFC (works out to under 4%).

Take a moment and do the math. If you teach two weekly 45 min classes, that’s 1.5 hours of your time, with no commute, no parking, no need to pack to shower in a locker room, etc. If you have 8 clients paying you $40/month, you make $320/mo for 6 hours of work. Even when you factor in the EFC fee and Zoom costs, that’s almost $50/hour. Take control of your career, your fitness future! Join us!

Can my clients take classes from other instructors?

Yes, and we hope they do! Your members pay their membership fees for EFC directly to you, but because you are part of our team, they can take ALL classes on the schedule at no extra charge. We share our classes on one big schedule with unlimited access for all members.

Will I have other instructors’ members in my classes?

Yes, you may have members from other instructors attend your classes. They may be anywhere in the world, which means they might be in a different time zone than you are. We think it’s fun to make new fitness friends! Keep in mind, even though you may have people attending your classes who pay a different instructor for their memberships, your members get unlimited access to all the other formats and instructors at no extra charge. It’s a symbiotic relationship.

Will I need my own Zoom Account?

Yes, for now. You must provide your own Zoom account for classes, at a cost of about $10-15/mo depending on the type of agreement you choose.

How do I get paid?

You get paid directly from your clients. You own your business. Engage Fitness does not employ instructors or pay you.

You charge your clients a monthly fee (we recommend $40-$52/mo) for not just your own classes, but full access to our schedule of offerings. If you are already teaching online and charging per class, we recommend changing to an auto-billed monthly subscription payment, and we can help you set that up. Joining EFC is a great way to transition your business model to something sustainable and growth oriented.
